The quality of learning is heavily influenced by effective learning planning, including the teaching modules that are developed. This study aims to describe the quality of teaching modules created by prospective PPG teachers by assessing their alignment with the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The subjects of the study consisted of 33 PPG students who are prospective teachers in the PGSD program, cohort 2 for the academic year 2024/2025 at Universitas Bung Hatta. The research was conducted at the end of the first semester after the students completed the course on Teaching Principles and Assessment One, which covered UbD material. Data were collected through observations of the lesson plans produced by the prospective teachers, using a scoring rubric as a guideline. The results of the data analysis revealed three categories of lesson plans quality: 7 lesson plans were classified as low quality and did not align with the UbD principles, 21 lesson plans were in the moderate category with sufficient alignment, and 5 lesson plans were in the high category that aligned with the UbD principles. The most common misalignment was found between assessments and learning steps. In conclusion many of the lesson plans developed by pre-service teachers in the PPG program are not yet fully aligned with the principles of the Understanding by Design approach.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Cerdas Proklamator https://cerdas.bunghatta.ac.id/index.php/jcp/article/view/344 KESANTUNAN BERBAHASA ANTAR MAHASISWA PGSD UNIVERSITAS BUNG HATTA 2025-07-15T08:02:39+00:00 Wirnita Wirnita wirnita.eska@bunghatta.ac.id Erlina Erlina erlina@bunghatta.ac.id Hendrizal Hendrizal hendrizalsipmpd@bunghatta.ac.id Erwinsyah Satria erwinsyah.satria@bunghatta.ac.id M. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, guided by Brown and Levinson’s theory of politeness as the analytical framework. The findings reveal that positive politeness strategies are predominantly used among students, particularly in face-to-face communication, such as employing polite greetings, showing empathy, and maintaining harmonious discussions. However, instances of impolite expressions were also identified, especially in online communication contexts. The study further highlights that social environment, cultural background, and educational context significantly influence students’ choice of politeness strategies. This suggests the importance of integrating explicit politeness education into the PGSD curriculum to foster ethical and constructive communication skills essential for future educators.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Cerdas Proklamator Creative Commons License This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. This study aims to analyze the needs of teachers and students and develop effective game-based learning media to improve understanding and learning motivation. The research method used a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through a closed-ended questionnaire administered to teachers and fourth-grade students. Data were analyzed quantitatively by calculating the percentage of responses and qualitatively to obtain an in-depth picture of learning needs. The results showed that all teachers (100%) agreed that the IPAS material was difficult to understand and too dense, while all students (100%) admitted to never using learning media during the learning process. On the other hand, all respondents (teachers and students) stated that game-based media was the right solution because it was considered suitable for student characteristics and able to increase learning motivation. The conclusion of this study confirms that the development of game-based IPAS learning media with a microlearning approach and gamification elements can be an innovative solution to overcome learning challenges. These findings recommend the importance of teacher training in digital media development and the integration of educational games in the IPAS curriculum.
2025-08-20T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Cerdas Proklamator https://cerdas.bunghatta.ac.id/index.php/jcp/article/view/346 THE NEED FOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS-BASED MODULES FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER EDUCATION STUDENTS 2025-08-14T09:31:14+00:00 Gustiayu Juita Harun gustiayujharun@unp.ac.id Yanti Fitria yanti_fitria@fip.unp.ac.id Meila Yufriana Devi meilayd@unp.ac.id Mhd.
