PENGARUH METODE SQ3R BERBASIS STORYTELLING TERHADAP LITERASI MEMBACA SISWA

This study aims to determine the effect of the SQ3R method based on storytelling on the reading literacy of grade III students at SD Negeri 100 Palembang. The SQ3R method (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) combined with storytelling techniques is applied in Indonesian language learning in Theme 7 which discusses Food Technology. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving two classes, namely the experimental class using the SQ3R method based on storytelling and the control class using conventional learning methods. The instrument used was a reading literacy test that included understanding the contents of the reading, the ability to draw conclusions, and answer questions based on the text. The results of the data analysis showed a significant difference between the reading literacy of students in the experimental class and the control class. Students who learn with the storytelling-based SQ3R method show a higher increase in reading literacy compared to students who use conventional methods. Thus, the storytelling-based SQ3R method is effectively applied in Indonesian language learning to improve reading literacy of grade III students, especially in Food Technology material.
